At the beginning of the year, I have outlined 13 things to pay attention to build a personal branding for impact.

As a CEO, a business professional or an Entrepreneur, establishing your reputation via a credible personal branding rooted in your expertise is becoming increasingly de rigueur.

There is no particular order to these 13 trends. Today I am going to talk about Being human.

I know how overwhelmed you can be right now with all the constraints of your work, the demands of your staff, your clients and juggling with this remote or hybrid work that you forget your long-term goals that you want to achieve

But don’t forget that human connection is vital.

Imagine your staff, clients and family talking about the care and attention you show them in challenging times and this reputation preceding you everywhere you go.

As the new technology, AI and robots are becoming more present in our lives, being more human will set us apart from the machines when developing our personal branding.

Being human means connecting with other people and being accessible to those who matter the most.

  • Talk to them: make it a regular thing to connect with a certain number of people daily – for the purpose to get to know them better – not for work!
  • Listen to them: what personal things do you know about them? Intimate stuff like the name of their kids, pets, …. what do they really want? (Look beyond the primary need)
  • Offer help. If you know they are going through some hardship, what support can you provide? Can you refer them to other people who can help if you can’t?

Be clear who those people are! Who do you need to keep in mind?

  • Your clients
  • Your Staff
  • Your Friends & Family

It also means rehumanising the workplace with:

  • Better social connections
  • Strengthening relationships online
  • Catching up offline.

Not bringing a human touch will make people leave your organisation and become disengaged.

Being human is what is going to separate us from machines in this tech-driven world.

What if you could add a human touch to everything you do this year without losing your professionalism?

I invite you to reflect on what you can do daily to add a personal touch to your online and offline interactions.

I can’t wait to see what this small change you do to your habits transform your relationships with people. A year from now, when you look back, you will be proud to see how this tiny change has paid off big time and know that you have made a difference in the life of others.

Building a personal branding that encompasses a personal touch will not only define who you are, but your vision and the impact you are seeking to create will accelerate in 2022.

I look forward to hearing from you and knowing that you are implementing this human touch in your life with tangible benefits.
